SOC for Cybersecurity vs. SOC 2 compares two AICPA-designed reporting frameworks. SOC 2 is an audit report that evaluates service organizations’ security controls based on the Trust Services Criteria. It is primarily used by cloud providers and SaaS companies. SOC for Cybersecurity, on the other hand, is a broader cybersecurity risk management report that applies to any organization. It provides stakeholders with insights into an entity’s overall cybersecurity risk posture. While both frameworks focus on security, SOC 2 is specific to service organizations, whereas SOC for Cybersecurity applies to businesses across various industries.
