CSU coach Larry Eustachy, who earned his 800th career victory this season, said Clavell is the "second-best guard I've ever coached," behind only Iowa State All-American Jamal Tinsley, who played 12 seasons in the NBA.Clavell, 23, said scouts from about 15 NBA teams were at the combine in Florida watching him work out Tuesday and Wednesday with 23 other pro prospects. He was scheduled to meet individually Wednesday with the San Antonio Spurs, he said, and he's hoping to participate in pre-draft workouts with several NBA teams.Clavell could easily make a good living playing professionally overseas. But that would mean he wouldn't be available should an NBA team want to bring him up mid-season.
