The Glass Bead in India is an ancient craft which has been practiced for centuries. This Indian
art originated in the Benaras Hindu University in Varanasi. The program lasted from 1938 until
1962. During this time, many new glass beads were discovered, including seed beads and
lampwork beads. Several other techniques were also found, and these have influenced the
current day creation of glass beads. Today, the Glass Bead in India is an excellent example of
the world's best-known bead.
