Satta Matka began in the early 1960s in Mumbai. But before this version, the idea of number guessing existed in a different form. Back then, people used to bet on the opening and closing rates of cotton prices from the New York Cotton Exchange. This system was sent by teleprinter and became the base for early guessing.
