India and GCC FTA Negotiations UPSC

India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) signed a Joint Statement in New Delhi on February 24, 2026 to officially initiate the negotiations on a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA). This step seeks to increase bilateral trade, economic and investment as well as strategic relations between India and the six-member Gulf block after the signing of Terms of Reference (ToR) on February 5, 2026.
