Combigan eye drops are a medication used to treat high eye pressure in people with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The medication is a combination of two active ingredients, brimonidine tartrate and timolol maleate, that work together to reduce the pressure inside the eye.
Brimonidine tartrate is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, which means it reduces the production of aqueous humor in the eye and increases its drainage. Timolol maleate is a beta-blocker that reduces the production of aqueous humor as well.
