As with any other method of aesthetic enhancement, there are certain side effects and risks that may arise – especially with improper use, or when having Botox administered by an untrained injector. The beauty of Botox is that it is non-invasive and doesn’t require any incisions or cuts to be made, and therefore it limits downtime and side effects. However, some are still possible. For most patients side effects are limited to light swelling, bruising, and redness along the treatment area. Some patients may experience minor headaches as well, or flu like symptoms immediately after but these issues will be minor and will dissipate soon after. Botox is a prescription treatment, therefore its vital that you inform your provider of any medications or drugs you might be taking, and any health concerns or issues you might be facing at the time. Otherwise, as long as you are safe and using Botox in moderation, as your doctor or provider advises, you are in complete safety with Botox.
